Rippling Global EOR and payroll in the Caribbean: capabilities, limitations and pricing

Rippling extends its US HR, IT and payroll platform to other countries through Rippling Global, including EOR, commonly quoted at $599-$699 per employee per month. Its strength is one system for US and international staff; the checks for the Caribbean are which entity employs your staff and whether local rules such as Guyana NIS ceilings and allowance rules are handled natively. Four engineers in Georgetown cost $140,222 in our first-year example.

What Rippling offers internationally and what to check in the Caribbean

Rippling is an employee management platform combining HR, payroll, benefits, device management and app provisioning. Rippling Global adds international payroll (for your own entities), EOR (where you have none) and contractor payments. Its main strength is integration: a Caribbean hire gets the same onboarding, laptop provisioning, app access and approval workflows as a US hire, and finance sees one ledger.

For the Caribbean, the buyer should check two things. First, the employing entity: ask Rippling to confirm, per island, whether EOR is delivered through a Rippling entity or a partner. Second, local depth: platforms designed in the US can treat local rules as configuration. Test that the engine handles, for example:

  • Guyana NIS capped at GYD 280,000 a month and the PAYE allowance of GYD 140,000 a month or one third of gross, whichever is higher.
  • Jamaica calculation order: employee NIS first, then Education Tax on statutory income, with the S01 by the 14th.
  • Trinidad Health Surcharge as a flat weekly employee deduction alongside NIS.

See Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica for the rules.

Ask Rippling for a sample payslip for your island before signing; it shows quickly whether local deductions are labeled and calculated as local staff expect.

Rippling pricing structure for Caribbean EOR

Rippling quotes are custom. The ranges below are commonly quoted for global EOR; confirm each line in your order form.

If you already pay for Rippling in the US, the incremental cost of a Caribbean EOR hire is mainly the EOR fee plus FX. If you do not, the platform subscription is an added line. Model it in the EOR fee audit calculator.

For a company that already runs Rippling in the US, ask for an incremental quote that shows only the Caribbean additions. For a company new to Rippling, ask for a quote that splits the platform from the EOR, so you can see what you would pay if you later moved Caribbean staff to a regional provider and kept Rippling only in the US. Also ask whether device management and app provisioning for Caribbean staff are included or priced per user, since laptops shipped to Georgetown or Port of Spain may face import duties and delays.

Worked 12-month cost: 4 engineers in Georgetown

Assumptions: four engineers on GYD 450,000 per month (GYD 5,400,000 per year, about $25,837 at USD 1 = GYD 209), Rippling EOR at $599 and $699, FX margin of 2.5%, no platform subscription included. Guyana rates are 2026 figures from GRA and NIS; confirm before payroll is run.

Employer NIS per engineer (GYD) Salary 450,000 exceeds the 280,000 ceiling 8.4% x 280,000 = 23,520 per month x 12 = 282,240 per year / 209 = $1,350.43 Gross + NIS per engineer = 5,682,240 GYD / 209 = $27,187.75 x 4 engineers = $108,751.00 Rippling fees and FX, 12 months EOR at $599 $599 x 4 x 12 = $28,752.00 FX margin 2.5% x $108,751.00 = $2,718.78 All-in at $599 = $140,221.78 All-in at $699 (fee $33,552) = $145,021.78 Payslip check (employee side, per month) Allowance = higher of 140,000 or 450,000 / 3 = 150,000 Chargeable before other reliefs = 300,000 PAYE 25% x 280,000 = 70,000; 35% x 20,000 = 7,000; total 77,000 Employee NIS 5.6% x 280,000 = 15,680

The payslip check is the test: an engine that applies the flat GYD 140,000 allowance instead of the one-third rule will over-withhold. Confirm the order of reliefs with GRA. For oil and gas hiring, also read the Guyana local content playbook.

Contract clauses to check

  1. Entity schedule per country, with notice before any change to a partner.
  2. Platform dependency. Whether cancelling the core platform ends the EOR service, and the notice period for each.
  3. Severance. Guyana TESPA pays 1 week per year for years 1-5, 2 weeks for years 6-10 and 3 weeks above 10, capped at 52 weeks, after one year, with one month of notice. Ask how it is funded.
  4. Data. Rippling holds HR, device and app data; confirm the scope shared with any in-country partner.
  5. Exit. Conversion fee to your own entity and transfer of service years.

For Guyana specifically, if staff work in oil and gas, ask how the EOR supports Local Content Act reporting, such as employment data by nationality and role, and whether that reporting is included in the fee. A provider that cannot produce this data easily adds work for your compliance team. Check also how overtime relief buckets introduced in the 2026 PAYE framework are handled, since field roles often carry significant overtime.

When Rippling fits, and when it does not

It fits when you already run Rippling for US staff and want Caribbean hires in the same system for onboarding, devices and approvals. For a handful of senior engineers or finance staff, that operational consistency can be worth the fee.

Look elsewhere when you are building a larger single-island team, when local statutory depth matters more than integration, or when you do not otherwise need the Rippling platform. See Rippling vs Pebl, Trinidad vs Guyana technical workforce and the software engineers playbook.

A useful rule: if more than half of the value you expect from Rippling is device, app and workflow integration, it is likely worth the fee for a small Caribbean team. If the main need is compliant local payroll at the lowest cost, a regional EOR or a local bureau usually serves better, and Rippling can still be the system of record through an integration. For Guyana energy work, where local content reporting and overtime rules matter, test the local depth before signing.

Negotiation levers

  • Bundle with US seats. Existing Rippling customers can often negotiate a lower EOR fee as part of a renewal.
  • Annual commitment for the lower end of the $599-$699 range.
  • FX terms with a named reference rate for GYD and a fixed margin.
  • Deposit reduced or waived for existing customers with payment history.
  • Conversion fee waived if you open a local entity and move staff to Rippling payroll.

Timing matters: Rippling renewals for US seats are a natural moment to add Caribbean EOR at a better rate. Ask for the EOR fee to be locked for the same term as the platform, and for added Caribbean seats to inherit the price. If the island you need is served through a partner, ask whether the fee reflects that. Get FX, deposit and conversion terms in the order form, and ask for a sample invoice showing how statutory costs, fees and FX are separated, so finance can reconcile against GRA and NIS filings each month.
