How each side is loaded

US FTE = base + 9.2% payroll taxes (FICA 7.65% + FUTA/SUTA) + 3% retirement match + $9,600 health + $7,200 workspace Caribbean FTE = base + 2026 employer statutory (engine) + $1,080 health benefit + $1,200 equipment + $3,000 regional EOR fee (or $11,400 managed seat margin) Example: 25 CX agents, Florida vs Jamaica, direct EOR US 39,000 + 3,588 + 1,170 + 9,600 + 7,200 = 60,558 / FTE JM 7,800 + 966.48 + 1,080 + 1,200 + 3,000 = 14,046.48 / FTE Savings (60,558 − 14,046.48) × 25 = USD 1,162,788 / yr

What the cost line does not show

Cost is necessary but not sufficient. Jamaica offers a large English-speaking CX workforce with a neutral accent and an established BPO sector in Kingston and Montego Bay; the Dominican Republic adds bilingual English–Spanish capacity and free-zone operators in Santo Domingo and Santiago; Trinidad and Guyana are stronger for finance and technical roles. Attrition, supervision ratios and power and connectivity resilience move the real number. Compare the hubs in Jamaica vs Dominican Republic and Trinidad vs Guyana.

FAQs

How much can a US company save with a nearshore team in Jamaica?

For customer support roles, a fully loaded Jamaican agent on a regional EOR typically costs around a quarter of a Florida or Texas agent, a saving of roughly 50%–75% on that cost line before management overhead.

Is a managed BPO seat or a direct EOR cheaper?

A direct EOR is cheaper per head because you supervise the team yourself. A managed BPO seat costs more but includes facility, IT, workforce management and supervision, which suits teams that need to be live quickly.

Which Caribbean hub is best for bilingual support?

The Dominican Republic has the deepest English–Spanish bilingual workforce in the region; Jamaica has the largest pool of native English speakers.

Are the salary benchmarks guaranteed?

No. They are mid-level 2026 market midpoints for budgeting. Enter your own salaries to test specific roles.
